πΎ STORAGE TYPES
Nomie 6-OSS STORAGE TYPES
Nomie 6 support 2 different types of Storage Options for your data. Why? We Fundamentally believe that users should have full access to their data, and companies should not. Nomie has and will always give users as many options as possible to manage their own data, while still providing a good user experience.
Switching between storage types
How to switch between the different storage types:
- Go to the More Tab, and scroll to Storage Type.
- Select the storage type
- Nomie will refresh using the new storage.
You can safely switch between different storage engines without losing any data, as each storage type is isolated and they do not share data.
Local/Device Only
Your data will never leave your device. This is a great way to get started, but make sure you BACKUP often. Apple and Google might clear out your data if youβre device is running low on space.
CouchDB
Nomieβs CouchDB Storage is powered by PouchDB – which lets you sync your data in near time with a CouchDB server.
If youβre technical enough to host and run a couchdb server, you can run Nomie on multiple devices on your own network. Note that CouchDB does not use encryption, and the data will be stored in readable JSON format.
If you’re not technical enough to host your own server, I have good news as I have created a free service called DailyNomie Sync. You can read more about it via below link: DailyNomie Sync
